Dr. A. Rakesh Sarma is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician, physician executive coach, and educator dedicated to helping healthcare professionals reconnect with meaning, resilience, and authentic leadership in medicine.
After earning his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean and completing his Internal Medicine residency at Mercer University, Dr. Sarma pursued advanced training in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine and Functional Medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine. His additional training includes Physician Development Coaching, Somatic Experiencing®, and the Enneagram as a professional development framework.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sarma has practiced in diverse clinical settings—including primary care, hospital medicine, occupational medicine, and integrative medicine—and has owned and operated his own integrative primary care practice. He has also mentored and coached physicians interested in building and growing their own practices while creating careers that better align with their values.
Today, Dr. Sarma combines evidence-based medicine, leadership development, neuroscience, and practical coaching to help physicians navigate the realities of modern healthcare with greater clarity, purpose, and effectiveness. Through executive coaching, speaking, workshops, and educational programs, he equips healthcare professionals with practical tools that foster sustainable careers and healthier organizations
